Mirror mirror on the wall?

Do people see you as you see yourself in the mirror? OR as you see yourself when you look at yourself without a mirror? Example a girl puts on a skirt and a pair of heels and checks out the ensemble in the mirror, focusing on her legs. She then slightly bends to see what her legs look like without the mirror. Is she really seeing the same thing or is it just perception that makes it look different?

  1. Depends on the Mirror, Some people i know have what is called a skinny mirror to make them feel skinner then they are.

  2. If you are talking about solely the physical appearance we see in mirrors then we definately see oursleves differently in mirrors than without! I prefer the mirror and its good to know that others get that view of you also! This happens to me but have you ever noticed as you drink through the night and look at yourself in a mirror...you are less and less happy with what you see but its so easy to get over and not care! You dont fuss as much! Love the blog idea Pretty! We need Mina on here too!

  3. Perception is reality. Perception alters what people see and when people look at themselves with their own beliefs, then they tend to see those beliefs whether they are there or not. If the individual does not have these biases, then generally they will see what is there.

  4. But what individual has no biases about themselves? Do you think more people have a negative bias about themselves or positive?

  5. When you try to understand everything you will understand nothing. The best way is to understand yourself, and then you will understand everything. Those that have looked within and truly know themselves will have no baises when looking in the mirror.
